Memory

On April 3, 2014, John Stenger passed away at the age of ninety-one. It was on November 14, 2015, that Ayleen passed away at the age of ninety. They were both laid to rest in Arlington. It was noted in John’s 1999 memoir to his children, “Mother and I have had unanticipated and nigh unbelievable experiences in our years together. – especially considering our origins in South Akron “between BFG and Firestone.” Our marriage has been sweetened by two Outstanding children and two granddaughters – and two loving and faithful dogs, Friskie and Shi. We are content. We are happy. We are unafraid of the future. Mother cooks. I do dishes. Mother “does” flowers, I do mowing. We look after one another. And after 53-plus years we are still in love.”
