Atomic Cafe Summary

The Atomic Cafe is about World War II with the United States dropping their first atomic bomb in Japan on a city called Hiroshima. Further in the story, they were justified on if they should drop another bomb in Japan to help slow down the war and maybe gain victory. However, if they would not have drop the bomb, they would have lost more American soldiers in the war resulting in more casualties. At the near end of the movie, they show demonstrations of what to do and how to take cover if an atomic bomb would land in the United States.

To me, I kind of did like this movie, because it showed a major history point for our country. It also was a little bit funny because, it showed that when a bomb hits, you should duck and cover wherever you are at. The ironic thing is back then, they thought this method was “golden” and you couldn’t get hurt. However, an atomic bomb literally can destroy an entire city in matter of seconds, I don’t believe that crouching somewhere is going to save you when a bomb hits.
