Resume
After graduating from Bridgewater College, I plan to go to a medical school to pursue a career as a pediatrician. I want to become a pediatrician because I’ve always loved working with kids, and I think that working with them would be both fulfilling and impactful. During my time volunteering at the Mathios Wondu Ethiopian Cancer Society, I had the chance to work with both adults and kids who were facing cancer. While I did spend most of my time there collecting donations, I had the opportunity to make the patients, especially the kids, feel more comfortable by playing games, spending the holidays together, and just being there for them. It really opened my eyes to the challenges that children with serious illnesses face, and it made me realize how much more can be done to support them. After completing medical school, I intend to return to Ethiopia, where I can contribute to improving healthcare for underserved communities. There is a significant need for medical professionals in Ethiopia, especially in rural areas, and I want to collaborate with local healthcare teams to provide accessible and quality care. Alongside my medical career, I also have a passion for drawing. I plan to take courses in art and explore painting in my spare time.
