Jeff received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Communication Studies and a minor in Philosophy & Religion from Bridgewater College and holds a Master of Divinity degree from Eastern Mennonite Seminary. He also completed a Clinical Pastoral Education residency at the University of Virginia, serving in adult and pediatric settings. Jeff served as Director of Pastoral Care at Bridgewater Retirement Community, Senior Pastor of the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren, and now is Associate for Pastoral Care for Trinity Presbyterian Church, a PRN chaplain with Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, and volunteer chaplain at Sentara RMH.

Jeff and his wife Wendy live in Bridgewater, close to campus with their two sons and family dog. Jeff and Wendy were both on the BC Forensics Team and students of Dr. Pierson and Dr. Laliker when they were the only BC Communication Studies faculty. Jeff was in one of the first BC Communication Studies graduate cohorts. They also starred on the Cole Hall Stage in a one-act play as students. Jeff has been a guest presenter for Dr. Laliker’s interpersonal class, and Dr. Hayes’ Sociology of Birth and Death classes, speaking on grief and loss. He loves puns, medical drama TV shows and in an unprecedented move has been honing his skills at 2nd and 5th grade math and language arts skills, learning from his children with their school continuity,  while Wendy connects and teaches with her EMU nursing students and faculty from home.
