For this project, I studied Lindy Peterson, who created the STOP-THINK-DO program. STOP-THINK-DO is a behavior management program that helps develop a positive and safe social environment within the classroom. Peterson&#8217;s program helps teachers <strong>understand how learners grow and develop <\/strong>and what they<strong> need in order to succeed <\/strong>in the classroom. When executed in a school, STOP-THINK-DO helps teachers<strong> respond to challenges in developmentally appropriate ways<\/strong> and teaches students how to self-regulate their emotions. Teachers are encouraged to<strong> stop and think about the developmental needs of the student <\/strong>before they proceed, so their <strong>response is catered towards the individual needs of each student<\/strong>. This assignment aligns with <strong>InTASC Standard #1<\/strong> because STOP-THINK-DO is founded on the understanding that all\u00a0<strong>learners develop differently<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-white-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-bf961257f7776c03faa11b1366486590\">Heading<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Standard #2: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Learning Differences<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; The teacher uses understanding of individual differences and diverse cultures and communities to ensure inclusive learning environments that enable each learner to meet high standards.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"ead-preview\"><div class=\"ead-document\" style=\"position:relative;\"><iframe src=\"\/\/view.officeapps.live.com\/op\/embed.aspx?src=https%3A%2F%2Fwp.bridgewater.edu%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F1877%2F2024%2F04%2FPaper-2.docx\" title=\"Embedded Document\" style=\"width:100%; height:500px; border: none;\"><\/iframe><\/div><p class=\"embed_download\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wp.bridgewater.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1877\/2024\/04\/Paper-2.docx\" download>Download<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Rationale:<\/span><\/strong> For this standard, I chose to include a paper from EDUC 215: Diversity in the Classroom that outlines four of the diversity-focused activities we explored. These activities challenged us to consider the <strong>role that diversity plays in the school community<\/strong>. This paper aligns with <strong>InTASC Standard #2<\/strong> because I considered <strong>individual differences<\/strong> and the influence of <strong>diverse cultures and communities<\/strong> on learner abilities and identities. Thinking about these aspects allowed me to understand how to <strong>create an inclusive learning environment in the classroom<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-white-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-bf961257f7776c03faa11b1366486590\">Heading<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Standard #3: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Learning Environments<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; The teacher works with others to create environments that support individual and collaborative learning, and that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canva.com\/design\/DAE9TIYmupU\/fEevL4qqjAw7MZQjFEIj3g\/edit?utm_content=DAE9TIYmupU&amp;utm_campaign=designshare&amp;utm_medium=link2&amp;utm_source=sharebutton\">https:\/\/www.canva.com\/design\/DAE9TIYmupU\/fEevL4qqjAw7MZQjFEIj3g\/edit?utm_content=DAE9TIYmupU&amp;utm_campaign=designshare&amp;utm_medium=link2&amp;utm_source=sharebutton<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Rationale:<\/span><\/strong> For this standard, I chose to include the ABC Book of Classroom Management Strategies from EDUC 372E: Classroom Management. The goal of the assignment was to create a book of classroom management strategies to incorporate into the classroom that create the preferred <strong>classroom environment for individual and collaborative learning<\/strong>.
