More About My Mom

It’s never occurred to me until now, that my mom has always read to me and my sister, but I seldom see her with a book just for enjoyment in her hands. She occasionally picks up a historical Christian Novel, but it usually takes her quite some time to finish it, if she ever does. Although she may not read a book from cover to cover, she does, in a sense, read cookbooks and cooking magazines. My mom loves to cook and she enjoys trying new recipes with new and different ingredients, although she does take a creative detour at times. I guess my dad has a collection of novels on the bookshelf and my mom has a collection of cookbooks in her cabinet; each collection catering to their individual likes. I can honestly say that although my reading preference is more like my father’s, I do enjoy benefiting from my mother’s preferred reading materials.
