Resume
Currently, I work as a lab assistant under multiple professors at Bridgewater College. I enjoy the work and would like to continue with it during my college career at Bridgewater. I intend to graduate from Bridgewater in 2026 and attend veterinary school since my major career goal is to earn a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine. I am not, as of now, certain what veterinary school I will end up going to. My current top choice schools are Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, also known as Virginia Tech, North Carolina State University, and the University of Georgia. I aim to gain as many shadowing and internship hours as possible during the school year and the summer at different veterinary clinics and animal shelters to gain experience in the industry. I want to be able to experience as many different aspects of the veterinary world as I can before sticking with a particular one. I want to split my time between exotic or zoo veterinarians, equine, cattle, emergency, and small animal vets. I want to join an existing veterinary practice for at least a few years as I learn and settle into my chosen career post-vet school. Perhaps, if I find a workplace that I really enjoy during shadowing, I will return to work there permanently after vet school. Maybe after a few years at an established practice, I will begin my own, as of now though, it is not of major importance or concern compared to applying for vet school and passing the MCAT.
