Hey there! My name is Kaylee Hill, and I am a sophomore at Bridgewater College. I am a biology major with a chemistry minor and if you can’t tell, I love science! I grew up on my family’s farm, Harvest Hill Farm, near Singers Glen, VA where we raise and own cattle, horses, sheep, goats, hogs, rabbits, and chickens. I have spent most my life working with animals and have hopes to attend veterinarian school after I receive my undergraduate degree. For over a decade now horses have been my largest passion within the agricultural industry. Nutrition is a particular interest of mine and as an equine veterinarian I would like to emphasize high quality equine nutrition and educate my clients on the benefits of feeding their horses a more natural diet. While I have been studying equine nutrition for about 5 years, my science education at Bridgewater College is enhancing my understanding of the digestive tract and I am excited to further explore the equine body in vet school. I feel that with this background I will be able to provide a unique approach to feeding horses that will better both horses and general horsemanship. Additionally, I have a background working and training BLM Mustangs and would like to use that knowledge to provide veterinarian services to individuals who own or are rehabilitating feral, partially domesticated, or traumatized horses. My experience working with challenged horses will allow me to assist the horses that so many veterinarians are unable to help due to their challenging circumstances.
