This means you must enable \u201cJoin before host\u201d and waiting rooms.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The guide covers 2 ways to create the preassigned rooms. We recommend creating them using the CSV file method. Don\u2019t worry, the guide has a template for you to edit.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Creating groups in canvas:&nbsp;<ul><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-add-a-group-set-in-a-course\/ta-p\/693\" target=\"_blank\">Group sets<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-manually-assign-students-to-groups\/ta-p\/663\" target=\"_blank\">Manually create<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-automatically-assign-students-to-groups\/ta-p\/725\" target=\"_blank\">Automatically create<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>For detailed notes about setting the audio in classrooms, refer to pages 1-5 in the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/bridgewater.box.com\/s\/a5vhhugafx2dioypzz77rv840j5akfjw\" target=\"_blank\">Beginning of Class Instructor\u2019s Checklist<\/a>.&nbsp;<ul><li>Are you or your students hearing echoes over Zoom? Since some faculty and students are using Zoom in the same classroom, sometimes the microphone on one computer picks up the audio from a different computer\u2019s speaker. This is know as feedback loop, which can cause that echoing sound you may hear in class. When students are having in-class discussions or asking questions, here are some strategies you can use to prevent feedback loops:&nbsp;<ul><li>#1:&nbsp; It is good practice to repeat what the student said, so the remote students can hear in-class students without issues.&nbsp;<\/li><li>#2: Don\u2019t want to repeat everything? In that case, mute&nbsp;<strong>both&nbsp;<\/strong>the Instructor Station microphone<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>and the Instructor Station computer audio. Then have the student unmute the microphone on their personal device and speak to remote students that way.
